I would most definitely recommend watching this in the original Japanese dub because the performances in the English dub are just plain terrible, however considering this came out in the early mid 90s, there are some exceptions. It is without a doubt one of the most popular series in Japan let alone one of the most famous manga stories every adapted.

In 2046, people can access a virtual network known as the Neurolinker via their cellphone terminals. The title of this series is Seiken no Burakkusumisu, which can literally be translated to “The Sacred Sword Blacksmith”.
Translated as “The Sunday Without God”, perhaps I could show this to my Religion class…
God abandoned the world on Sunday. As a result, nobody in the world can die or reproduce. A little girl, Ai, is the gravekeeper for a village. She has prepared 47 graves for the eventual deaths of every member of the village. Later, a man who identifies himself as “Hampnie Hambart, the ‘Man-eating Toy’,” which is coincidentally the name that Ai’s mother left behind as the name of her father, arrives in the village and slaughters everybody. Just what is going on?
