Our third fundraiser event was a spur of the moment decision, brought on by the leftover noodle supply from our second fundraiser. Looking back, I would have to say that I am very proud of what we have achieved so far. Regarding the recent fundraising stand, it would seem that more people are aware the club exists on campus.
On Thursday August 22nd, it started off really great with the weather being really nice and sunny.
We were provided two tables situated in the middle of the quad where the majority of students pass by to go to the cafeteria, library or lectures. For one table we had our fundraising section where we sold hot cup noodles; provided with an URN we gave hot water to fill the cup noodles that came in multiple flavors including spicy ones that are irresistible and also Pocky, which we had a variety of flavours (and some exotic and never heard of flavours, provided by Anna). We decided to all give John a little break from the consistencies of being a mascot and we all had something on our heads from a gothic/victorian styled fascinator to ribbon clips to the famous ACU Anime Club Cat Ears (all provided by Anna). Some of us even decorated ourselves with glittery stickers.
The other table was our membership sign up, which we eventually got some new members join our awesome club. A big shout out to Jay from Anime MQ for the generous donation of membership cards. We displayed them and more people were curious and eventually encouraged to join the club. The members will definitely treasure these cards and they will definitely come in handy for identification and used to gain discounts from our beloved Anime at Abbotsford store.
We are looking forward to doing it again. As you can imagine from the photos and footage taken, each of us contributed had a fun time. I would like to thank every single member who helped out on the day whether it was from set up, making posters and signs, putting up and advertising the signs around campus, generously bought the cup noodles, provided essentials to decorate and make our stand flow nicely. I can go on and on about how much I appreciate every single member who contributed to the club in some way. It was such a fun day. Let’s do it again! Let’s bring the culture life back into uni again!
